Discussion Forums

Discussion Forums provide a virtual meeting place whereby participants can discuss topics of interest via a series of sequential messages.  By promoting further dialogue in the form of additional messages, the forum allows participants to compare and enrich their learning while sharing the opinions and experiences with others.

Within the training programs of its own clients, PTS uses forums to:

  •  Introduce topics that are to be explored in other ways or, on the other hand, deepen knowledge on specific topics that have been addressed already in the traditional classroom or through self-paced training

  •  Support the implementation of training content and concepts in the work environment.

  • Provide support to and consistency over time in the training initiative

  • Promote dialogue within the professional community

PTS’ forums, available and accessible to registered users on the PTS web-site, provide a “virtual meeting place” among users to discuss issues on topics such as E-Learning, Instructional Design and Human Performance Technology.

PTS maintains two types of forums: private/public and synchronous/asynchronous which are accessible after completing the registration form.

A moderator monitors discussions, should any guidance be needed to better assist in the exchange of ideas.

Knowledge Management

Knowledge Management is a methodology that supports E-learning, whose objective is to manage and support resource know-how within a company.  

The purpose of Knowledge Management is to acquire, analyze, maximize and reuse the knowledge of employees in order to create information capital synergies for the improvement of company performance.  

Knowledge Management both supports and integrates training solutions such as E-Learning via the following tools:

  •  Mapping of individual and shared knowledge (both of the team and the organization)

  •  Gathering, continuous feeding and distribution of mapped knowledge through electronic documentation and databases

  • Integration with e-mail, newsletters and other tools in order to facilitate communication and collaboration even at a distance
